![]() ![]() Īn additional overflow site, the Clifton High School Annex, was constructed at a cost of $17 million and opened in September 2009 to accommodate 540 of the school year's 850 incoming freshmen to alleviate overcrowding. The current high school building on Colfax Avenue was completed at a cost of $6 million (equivalent to $60 million in 2022) and opened in September 1962 with 3,000 students. A new building was dedicated in April 1926, by which time the school served an enrollment of 1,100. The district established a high school in 1906, with 40 students, with a curriculum that covered "English, Latin, Greek, German, history, mathematics, physics, chemistry, bookkeeping, shorthand, typewriting." By 1914, the school had 150 students. There were 1,192 students (40.2% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 188 (6.3% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch. Īs of the 2021–22 school year, the school had an enrollment of 2,962 students and 212.3 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 14.0:1.
